Flail Mower VS Rotary Mower: Which is best?

Flail Vs Rotary, the age-old question. Here at PSD one of the most common questions we get is, “would I be better with a rotary?” or vice versa. So, we’ve decided to answer it for you all now, in this blog we will outline & discuss the functionality and benefits of using each type.

Let us begin with, the flail mower.

Flail

There are several fantastic flail mowers on the market, walk behind flail mowers & ride on flail mowers. One great addition to the PSD range is the EcoTech HSR 110 Flail mower that sways the argument favourably in the flail direction. The HSR 110 is a part of the hydro series, a professional mower with 16” pneumatic tractor wheels that have quick release support, instant reverse and instantaneous parking brake, rotor of cut 38 blades, two independent hydrostatic motors, five regulation of handlebar height and quick release for total closure during transport and a 7Lt fuel tank.

The ride-on market has some great contenders for the flail mower, like the Stella engineered Racoon 110 4x4 Ride-on flail mower. The 110, one of several ride-on mowers in the Racoon range of ride on flail mowers is powered by a professional 2-cylinder engine and has a premium vanguard V-Twin engine. It delivers 26hp with a displacement of 810cm, a B-V-belt drives the flail shaft via a v-belt, the 5” Donaldson air filter ensures excellent fresh air supply for the engine even under extreme conditions, a great long grass mower.

The 110 Racoon is also powered by a two-cylinder engine and has particularly durable chassis that has a very stable tubular steel frame that ensures the necessary strength even in everyday life. The handles on both sides are useful for additional operator support on steep slopes.

Now, onto the rotary options.

Rotary

If durability is a concern, the flail is for you, if the appearance of the cut is a priority, then choose a rotary.
